There are family-owned businesses … and then there’s Tiger Mountain Vineyards. Located on property farmed for six generations by the Ezzard family, Tiger Mountain Vineyards is among the oldest and most awarded wineries in Georgia.
Vineyard Manager Lisa Ezzard is rightly proud of that history. Her late father, Dr. John Ezzard, pioneered the growing of fine wine grapes in the southeastern Appalachians. “We are a family-owned boutique winery dedicated to European old world style wine-making,” she says.
A regular winner in international wine competitions, Tiger Mountain Vineyards prides itself on offering flavorful wines in an unmatched setting. “It’s a stunning place,” Lisa notes. “There’s the beauty of the mountains and every season has its charms.”
Located on the picturesque slopes of Tiger Mountain, the winery features 10 acres of vineyards and a tasting room offering wine flights and local cheeses. There are regular live music performances and special events on holidays and during the summer.
The Red Barn Café, open spring to fall, provides a full gourmet menu and dining inside and out.
Devoted followers can join the Tigerwine Tasters club by purchasing a case each year. Membership provides discounts, free tastings and access to special events such as the Harvest Party and Awakening of the Vines celebration.
