A welcomed addition to the dining scene in southern Rabun County, The Shed, J & K’s Kitchen was created from the collaboration of Chef Jamie Allred and Kelsey McCracken. Both have a passion for great food, quality ingredients, and customer service.
Jamie is an award-winning chef and co-owner of Fortify Kitchen and Bar and Fortify Pi in downtown Clayton. He is a 2000 graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College culinary arts program. He has been in the restaurant industry for 25 years. A Rabun County native, Kelsey is a 2010 French Culinary Institute graduate and winner of a James Beard Foundation scholarship while attending the institute in NYC. She has been in the hospitality and restaurant industry for 15 years.
Their goal was to create an inviting dining experience throughout Rabun County with their full-service food truck. The schedule for their food truck is posted on social media and their website. They also regularly have special seafood and BBQ pick-up/to-go events at their location on the Wiley Connector.
The Shed offers a surprising variety of choices including jumbo fried chicken tenders, house-smoked BBQ, tacos, wings, build-your-own hamburgers and sandwiches. They feature a Chef Jamie’s famous collard greens and Kelsey’s chocolate caramel ganache tart along with other desserts made in-house.
Check them out on Facebook and Instagram for daily/weekly specials and their food truck schedule.
