Welcome!
Established in 1985, Main Street Gallery is located in the small Appalachian town of Clayton in the mountains of North Georgia. We are about an hour and a half north of Atlanta and about an hour and a half south of Asheville, North Carolina. Though there are only four traffic lights in historic Clayton, the city has plenty to offer including a range of shopping options as well as multiple restaurant choices…from a hometown diner to an award-winning farm-to-table establishment.
Outside the city limits are beautiful forests, streams, and hiking trails. Second homes abound in the mountains and around the lakes. There are even vineyards producing some exceptional wine. A few of Georgia’s best bed and breakfasts establishments are close by.
The gallery is housed in a renovated storefront building on Main Street. With three floors for exhibiting art, there is plenty to see. We specialize in self-taught/folk art, and have enjoyed our relationship with these unique artists for many years. Some of the artists are local, most are from the Southeast and others are scattered across the U.S. We also offer contemporary art (paintings and sculpture), pottery (both hand-built and wheel-thrown) and one-of-a-kind furniture. Our gift gallery section is a destination all its own. We strive to find unusual jewelry, accessories, and other interesting items..

Our owner, Jeanne Kronsnoble, recently made a visit to Eric Legge's North Georgia studio, and came away with some prizes including this large architectural work (bottom left). We're always adding new pieces at Main Street Gallery, so come visit or check out our web site at https://mainstreetgallery.net/!
