Beverly Lazar and her husband spent many years visiting Rabun County on the weekends with an RV at River Falls at the Gorge. When they decided to make the area their permanent home, they worked with Kristi Caudill of Rabun Realty.
Beverly, a retired Southeast Mortgage lender, soon learned that Kristi was looking for a preferred lender for Rabun Realty. A few conversations later, Beverly was unretired and putting her 35 years of experience to work opening a Southeast Mortgage office alongside Rabun Realty on Main Street in Clayton.
“It was just an ideal opportunity to bring something here that Clayton doesn’t have – an independent mortgage lender,” Beverly says. “We love it here and we’re offering more products and faster service than most traditional bank lenders.”

That way, nobody is wasting time. We can offer that level of response to any realtor in the area.”
